COLCA VALLEY
Located in the country of Caylloma in Cabanaconde, one of the deepest of the world is considered, with a depth 3400 meters. In both riverbanks of the canyon they are several towns těpicos of the mountain; the canyon has more than 100 Km. of long, The best observation place is in the Cruz from the Condor to 3800 msnm.
Since two thousand years ago an ethnos occupies the Valley and Canyon of the Colca, The Collaguas, they arrived to the area descending of higher regions and they are considered descending of the Aymaras.
Along of the valley a score of villages and residents are that have conserved, more than in any other region of the country, prints and customs of their past. Each population has her church whose Catholic fé maintains alive prehispanic elements. |
